Formby Point Caravan Park nr Liverpool

Today we caught the train from Formby to Liverpool Central at a bargain price of £5.10p.

We walked to the Albert docks and along to where the ferry crosses the Mersey, where we went in the Beatles shop. As we came out it started to rain so we had a drink in the Fab 4 cafe.

We decided to jump on the city sightseeing bus and we went round the whole route enjoying the commentary, and on the second lap we got off and walked up to the Cavern Club. We had a look inside and enjoyed a nice beer whilst listen to someone playing the guitar and singing.

We then caught the bus again as far as the Roman Catholic Cathedral, a beautiful building and stunning inside. We hopped back on the bus and dropped into the Anglican Cathedral which was beautiful in a totally different way.

We caught the bus back to Albert docks and then walked to Chinatown but didn’t fancy any of the restaurants there so walked all the way back to an all you can eat buffet near the station caught the 2038 train back feeling shattered.

Formby Point Caravan Park nr Liverpool

Raining again today so we had a ride to Southport in the car, by which time it was fine again.

We walked down to the end of the pier and caught the light railway back. There was another shower whilst we were on it but thankfully the last of the day.

We walked around the lake and had a drink in the Lakeside Inn, which is supposedly the smallest pub in England. It was small but inside it was lovely.

We had a wander round town before heading back. We called in at B&M bargains at Ormskirk on the way back

We stopped at Freshfields on the way back to the caravan for fish and chips.
