Spring Motorhome and Caravan Show, Newark Showground.
Sunday morning was a lot brighter. Had to queue for the toilets and the showers were cold.
Decided to have a ride down to the local Table Table for a good breakfast.

Spring Motorhome and Caravan Show, Newark Showground.
Saturday morning was quite chilly with a cold nip in the wind. We had a nice bacon butty for breakfast before a nice hot shower then off to catch the free bus into Newark.
After a couple of hours shopping we had dinner at The White Hart. A bit expensive and nothing special. A bit more shopping followed by a leisurely stroll back to catch the bus down by the river.
After a nice cuppa with Glynis and family we had a stroll around the trade stands. We bought an electric fan for £8 and an electric Hoover for £30.
A bit of a chill and Salmon Roll later and we were ready for Saturday night’s entertainment.
Had to queue up with Michelle and Gracie for 15 minutes before a mad dash for a table.
First up tonight was The Q Band. A five piece show band singing some old classic songs. Musically they were great. The female vocalist was pretty good but the Organ player, with the worst frizzy pony tail I have ever seen, who also sang lead vocals on a lot of the songs, was a bit weak. His falsetto Barry Gibb impression being particularly bad.
Top of the bill was Freddie "Parrot-face" Davies. He was celebrating 50 years since he appeared on Opportunity Knocks. I saw Freddie at Great Yarmouth when I was about 10. He was surprisingly good. A second set from The Q Band rounded the evening off before another short stroll back and another good night’s sleep.

Spring Motorhome and Caravan Show, Newark Showground.
We arrived at The Newark Show-ground about 3:30pm on Friday, a bit later than anticipated due to taking me longer than expected to get to the caravan and get on the road. Luckily Howard Stott managed to get us an Electric Hook Up which made the whole weekend so much easier. TV reception was also excellent.
It had got quite chilly by now and looked like rain, so we got set up quickly, but fortunately the rain never came. We had a cuppa with Glynis and family and then went back for dinner. Iceland Pepperoni Lasagne went down a treat and then it was time to get ready for the evening's entertainment.
We managed to get a good table and settled down with a nice cider to enjoy the evening's entertainment. First up was Rod Stewart tribute act Paul Metcalfe. He was very good and went down really well. Unfortunately half way through his second song the smoke machine set off the fire alarms and all the power to the stage went off. After about half an hour they finally managed to get the power back on and Paul was able to finish his first set. Then came the excellent Rob Hendy with his superb blend of comedy and Magic. Unfortunately one of the audience tripped and cut his leg whilst trying to join Rob on stage to be his beautiful assistant. Paul Metcalfe came back with a second excellent set to round the evening off. A short walk back to the Van and a good night's sleep, apart from several cider fuelled trips to the toilet.
