Spring Motorhome and Caravan Show, Newark Showground.

We arrived at The Newark Show-ground about 3:30pm on Friday, a bit later than anticipated due to taking me longer than expected to get to the caravan and get on the road. Luckily Howard Stott managed to get us an Electric Hook Up which made the whole weekend so much easier. TV reception was also excellent. It had got quite chilly by now and looked like rain, so we got set up quickly, but fortunately the rain never came. We had a cuppa with Glynis and family and then went back for dinner. Iceland Pepperoni Lasagne went down a treat and then it was time to get ready for the evening's entertainment.

We managed to get a good table and settled down with a nice cider to enjoy the evening's entertainment. First up was Rod Stewart tribute act Paul Metcalfe. He was very good and went down really well. Unfortunately half way through his second song the smoke machine set off the fire alarms and all the power to the stage went off. After about half an hour they finally managed to get the power back on and Paul was able to finish his first set. Then came the excellent Rob Hendy with his superb blend of comedy and Magic. Unfortunately one of the audience tripped and cut his leg whilst trying to join Rob on stage to be his beautiful assistant. Paul Metcalfe came back with a second excellent set to round the evening off. A short walk back to the Van and a good night's sleep, apart from several cider fuelled trips to the toilet.
